If you're on Loudoun Lake on May 20-26, 2017, show your support and dedication of the importance of National Safe Boating Week! Wear it Tennessee is spreading its awareness about the importance of wearing a proper personal floating device! Every year the number one leading cause of death in a boating accident in Tennessee is drowning. Tennessee ranks 5th in the nation. Most of these accidents can be prevented by simply wearing a personal floating device (PFD)! Nearly 60% of drownings occur from people not wearing life jackets and falling overboard or capsizing. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be promoting public awareness about the comfort and availability of new styles of life jackets.
