Boomsday is an annual celebration that takes place on Labor Day weekend in Knoxville, TN. This event features one of the biggest fireworks displays in the entire Southern United States. The event is held on the waterfront of Volunteer Landing and attracts a crowd of more than 325,000 spectators. The fireworks are choreographed to music which can be heard on a local radio station and also over speakers set up for the event.
Admission to Boomsday is free and food can be purchased from vendors. The event also features contests and a family fun zone. Boomsday is appropriate for all ages. The event celebrated 25 years in 2012 and continues to be one of the showcase events held in Knoxville, Tennessee.
